Cohen, Salk and Huvard serves as village attorney and special counsel to municipalities. Our areas of responsibility include preparation of ordinances relating to health, building, code compliance, zoning, planned unit development, subdivision approval, sign regulation, police powers, tax levies, infrastructure projects, the creation and development of TIF districts, special service areas, special assessment procedures and intergovernmental agreements.
We advise private and institutional clients on the entitlement process, including annexations, rezoning and redevelopment agreements, and we coordinate presentations before zoning boards and planning commissions. Representing villages and developers has given us a unique perspective on advancing solutions to zoning matters. We have experience with land use innovations that are guiding the development and adaptive re-use of land and buildings.
